2 slices of white bread torn into pieces, 1 egg (lightly beaten), 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon of worcestershire sauce, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1/8 tsp salt, 1/2 pound of lump crab meat, 1 scallion sliced, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
You’re going to need to set the bread out for an hour in order to allow it to harden a bit. Then, mix the egg, mayo, worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper in a bowl. Add your slightly hardened bread into the bowl.
Next, toss your lump crabmeat and your sliced scallion into the mixture (if you don’t like scallions or don’t have one, feel free to sprinkle in some onion powder instead). Next, shape your mixture into eight crab cake patties (as if you were making hamburgers).
Cook your crab cakes in hot oil in a large non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat, about 3 minutes per side - until lightly browned and cooked through. Yum!
This recipe is simple and doesn’t contain a lot of fancy ingredients and spices that will turn the kids off, so it makes an easy, fun dinner.
